Common Name:   Silica. Pure Flint

• Silicea is the chronic of Pulsatilla.

Causes & Symptoms for Dr. Reckeweg Silica (Silicea) 

• Silica promotes expulsion of foreign bodies from the tissues; fish bones, needles, bone splinters.
• It may cause the absorption of scar-tissue, liberate the disease, hence used in the complaints of keloid.
• Inflammation, swelling and suppuration of glands, cervical, axillary, parotid, mammary, inguinal, sebaceous, is relieved with help of Silicea (silica)
• Sweat of hands, toes, feet and axillae is offensive in the patients who need Silica.
• Every little injury suppurates is an indication of this remedy. It helps to matures abscesses, resolve the pus formed in the injury.
• Silica patient is cold, chilly, wants plenty warm clothing, hates drafts, hands and feet cold, worse in winter
• Trembling when writing, weakness of joints, eruptions itch only in daytime and evening. Eruption on chin is recovered with help of this medicine.
• Patients who suffer from deficient nutrition, the reason being Imperfect absorption, assimilation of food.

Mind and Head 

• Children are obstinate, headstrong, cry when spoken kindly to, the patient thinks only of pins, fears them, searches for them, and counts them carefully.
• Restless, fidgety of hands that starts at least noise indicates Silica, Throbbing headache, generally from congestion of blood in head is relieved with help of this medicine.
• Itching pustules and bulbous swellings on hairy scalp and on neck that are sensitive to pressure.
• Headache from spine extending over head and locating over one eye especially the right eye is benefited with Silica.
• The vertigo of Silicea in the same way ascends from the back of the neck; as if one would fall forward sometimes  backward; aggravated by looking up, closing eyes; lying on left side. Perspiration only on the head.

Eyes, Ear and Nose

• Blackness before eyes after headache, Sparks, and black spots before sight is relieved with Silica.
• Swelling of exterior of ear with discharge (of pus) from the ear, Hardness of hearing and Swelling, Induration of parotids has been relieved with this remedy.
• Silicea helps in Inflammation of nostrils, Itching in nose, Scabs, pimples, and ulcers in nose.

Throat

• Silica resolves Indurations left after suppuration; in the case of tonsillitis with Swelling of the uvula, Swelling of the palate.

Stomach and Abdomen

• Constant nausea and vomiting with Heaviness in stomach, Burning sensation in pit of stomach is recovered with Silica.
• Pressure in stomach, sometimes after every meal, or on drinking quickly is an indication of this remedy.
• Enlargement of abdomen, Inflammation and swelling of inguinal glands is helped with Silica.
